One hour yeast rolls

Updated: Oct 7, 2022

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups warm water

1 tablespoon active, dry yeast

2 tablespoons sugar

2 tablespoons butter, softened

1 teaspoon salt

4 cups all-purpose flour

3 tablespoons melted butter, to brush on top

Course sea salt, to sprinkle on top

In the bowl of a stand mixer, dissolve the yeast and sugar in the warm water and let stand for five minutes until the mixture is foamy and the yeast has started to bloom. Add the butter, salt, and flour, and mix until combined. The dough will pull away from the sides of the bowl and will be slightly sticky to the touch. Knead 3-5 minutes, until smooth. Place dough into a bowl that is lightly sprayed with non-stick cooking spray or lightly greased with butter. Cover and let rise for 20 minutes. Gently punch the dough down to remove air and cut pieces to form into 24 balls. Place dough balls into a 13×9" pan that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sea salt. Cover and let rise for 20 minutes. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F during this second rise. Bake for about 15 minutes or until browned on top. Remove from oven and brush lightly with melted butter. Let cool slightly and enjoy these delicious rolls!
